RAEL -- Pedro A. Rael, age 77, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2004. A native New Mexican, he served in the US. Army and retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools. Pedro was a member of San Ignacio Catholic Church, where he was very involved in the Music Program, having played the guitar for the choir. Pedro was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Rael; and grandson, Gabriel Rael. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rael; children, Frances Beltran, Sylvia Rael, Mary Jean Jimenez and husband, Raphael, Debbie Nuanes, Tony Rael and wife, Linda, Peter Rael, Lydia Girado, Johnny Lucero, Loretta Woodard, Geniva Rivera, and Leonard Lucero; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Rael, James Rael, Juan Rael and wife, Arcelia; sister, Agueda Candelaria; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter NE. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2004. MARTIN -- Catherine Louise Martin passed away in Glendale, CA on August 30, 2004. She was born December 6, 1921 in Charleston, IL to Erma and John James Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William John Martin. She is survived by their son, William David Martin, and his wife, Darlene Wanger, both of Los Angeles. She also leaves a brother, James Robert Ryan and sister-in-law, Jan Ryan, of Macon, MO; as well a nephew, Michael Ryan and wife, Peggy; and nephew, Charles Ryan, all of Blue Spring, MO; also best friend, Mary Adams' and dearest Friends, Diana Hitt Potter of Dragonfly Hill, Tyingham, MA and George Ivan Matula of Albuquerque, NM. She was a sergeant in the Women's Marine Corps in World War II; she received her degree in Education from Harris College, St. Louis, later teaching kindergarten in the St. Louis Public Schools. In 1946, she and William Martin were married in St. Louis. Together, they attended Yale University on the G.I. Bill where they both earned their M.F.A. in theater from Yale Drama School. They worked together in theater at Middlebury College, VT, Williams College, Williamstown, MA, Sarah Lawrence College, NY, Culver Military Academy, Culver, IN. They also worked together at the Merry-Go-Round Theater, Sturbridge, MA, Williamstown Summer Theater, and Cross-Right-Stage Theater in Falmouth, MA. Mr. Martin was Director of Popejoy Concert Hall, at UNM, from 1966 until 1992. She helped in this work in various ways. For twenty years she was administrative secretary for the English Department at UNM. Catherine was a member of the American Business Women's Association, and of NM-1-Sandia Woman Marines Association. She was a member of Screen Actors Gold for over twenty years, and helped draft the original New Mexico Regional SAG Constitution. She appeared in a number of movies filmed here in New Mexico. She may be best remembered for stage performance in Albuquerque, among which were "House of Blue Leaves" at Rodey Theater and "Becket's Women" at the Vortex. She bids a fond Shakespearian farewell to relatives and friends at this final curtain, and "curtain going up" always to the theatrical community

MILLS -- Evelyn Mills, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2004. She is survived by her son, Charles F. Mills of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Cheryl S. Baldwin and husband, Arlen of Albuquerque; sons, James R. Mills and David R. Mills and wife, Rose, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ken Baldwin, Kathy Moya, Shaunna Harle, James Mills, Steven Mills, Natalie Mills, and Melissa Mills; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Joni Cripe of Big Bear, CA, Marrion Bailey of Snohomish, WA, Dorothy Patton of Reno, NV, Ivalee Head of Littleton, Co, Jeanne Hood of Mercer Island, WA, and Dixie Lee Lohoff of Palm Desert, CA; brother, Keith Lohoff of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-laws, Lee Lohoff of Englewood, CO, and Jerie Lohoff of Louisville, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Mills in 1969. Mrs. Mills taught at Inez Elementary School for 30 years. PARKER -- Walter Marcus Parker, age 95, passed away on August 29, 2004. He dedicated his life to the education of the young, and his legacy will live on in the lives that he touched. He passionately served as principal of Northeast Elementary in Farmington, NM and resided there for over fifty years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sunshine Adams Parker; and by his children, Loretta Harnsberger and Marcus Parker; grandchild, James Harnsberger; and great-grandchild, Crystal Darling. He is survived by his grandchildren, Dana Bear and husband, David Bear; Sue Harnsberger and her longtime companion, Debbie Brown. A Graveside Service and Celebration of Life will be held on September 4, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenlawn Cemetary, Farmington, NM. HARALSON -- Ernest E. Haralson, 73, life long resident of Albuquerque, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away peacefully Saturday, August 28, 2004 with his family at his side. Ernie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ella; son, James and wife, Kathryn of Truth or Consequences, NM; daughter, Barbara and husband, Brett Day of Albuquerque; son, Chris and wife, Deanna of Belen, NM; six grandchildren, Erika, Ashley, David, Ryan, Jamie, and Joshua; brother, Charles and wife, Ann of Aztec, NM; sisters, Loma Liesner of Aztec, NM and Ora Slusser of Bloomfield, NM; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ernie was a lifelong member of IBEW Local Union 611. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd NW. ROSTRO -- David Estrada Rostro, 75, was called to Heaven by our Lord, on August 28, 2004. He was born in Roswell, NM, on November 13, 1928 to Jesus and Antonia Rostro. David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. Rostro; and his loving children, Dave and Christine Rostro, Patsy and Robert Garcia, Paul Rostro, James Rostro, Sabrina and Efren Garcia, Cynthia and Gary Saiz. David was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His presence will be missed but his strength will live on, in all of us. Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 30, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Bernalillo, NM. BALDWIN -- James G. Baldwin, age 75, passed away August 28, 2004. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Oralia Baldwin; and his three daughters, Rita Harrison and Anna M.R. Gaede, all of Albuquerque, and Dee Ann Baldwin of Pueblo, CO; five grandchildren, Jeanette, Theresa, Sophia, Richard Jr., and Joshua; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
