Apodaca -- Mrs. Virginia Apodaca, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 31, 1998. Mrs. Apodaca is the beloved wife of 62 years to Vincent Apodaca. She is also survived by ten daughters, Nancy Jaramillo and husband, Alex, Fela Chavez, Sally Jaramillo, Angie Vasquez, Isabel Torres and husband, Jose, Rosemary Romero, Betty Montoya, Bernadette Coca, Benita Cebada and husband, Gerald, Nattie Lee Vigil and husband, Chris; three sons, Ralph Apodaca and wife, Frances, Vincent Apodaca Jr. and wife, Mary Helen and Frankie Apodaca; one sister, Mary Apodaca and husband, Fred; one brother, Andy Montoya and wife, Tillie; 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Apodaca was a member of The Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW. Visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Deacon Nestor Garcia will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwins Catholic Church with final viewing at the church after 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Los Padillas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rudy Jaramillo, Leopaul Chavez, Virgil Jaramillo, Rodney Apodaca, Ross Romero and Rudy Apodaca. Baca -- Ernest Joseph Baca, 30, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 31, 1998. Bell -- Manuel P. Bell, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Thursday, December 31, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lela Bell of the family home; sons, Richard Bell of Belen, NM and Robert Bell and wife, Sandy of Roswell, NM; daughter, Patsy Rich and husband, Don of Bosque Farms, NM; and grandchildren, Kim Bell of Lexington, KY, Dustin Bell of Neosho, MO, Dennis Rich and wife, Yvonne of Capitan, NM, Kelley Bell of Dallas, TX, and Penni Peasley and husband, Gerald of Ft. Worth, TX. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Bell served in the Army Air Force for six years during the WWII and was stationed in Saipan. He then worked for Sandia Labs. After leaving Sandia Labs, he was in private business as a builder and landlord. He belonged to the Good Sam National Club since 1973. Mr. Bell was active in Republican Party Politics. He was a good husband, father, and provider for his family. Services will be held Monday, January 4, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Winfred Walker officiating. Bryl -- Jane Ketchin Bryl, 47, a resident of Albuquerque since the early 1990's, died Friday, January 1, 1999. She is survived by her husband, John Bryl of Albuquerque; children, Jennifer Ann Bryl and Emily Jeanne Bryl, both of Albuquerque; parents, Sam and Jewell Ketchin of Atlanta, GA; brother, Bo Ketchin of Decatur, GA; sisters, Anne Forrest Ketchin of Louisville, CO and Susan Cathcart Ketchin Edgerton or Orange County, NC; niece and goddaughter, Susan Catherine Edgerton of Orange County, NC; goddaughter, Joanna Edwards of Fresno, CA; and many friends throughout the country. Jane received a bachelors degree from Brown University and a Masters of Education from the University of Michigan. Jane and John moved to Albuquerque from Ann Arbor, MI. They opened and currently own Fleet Feet Sports in Albuquerque. Jane also worked for the University of New Mexico as a project manager. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 3, 1999, 1:00 p.m., at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd. NW with the Rev. Sandra S. Bess, officiating. Dennis -- Linda M. Dennis, 54, of Edgewood, NM, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 1998 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Linda was born April 16, 1944 in the Bronx in New York City to John and Nellie (Jackson) Daly. She met Raymond Lee Dennis in Las Cruces, NM and they were married on June 3, 1961. Prior to their move to Edgewood in 1994, they lived in Socorro, NM for 19 years. Linda helped with the family businesses, was involved in many church and civic activities, wrote an award-winning humor column,"Ya gotta be Kiddin", for the El Defensor Chiefain newspaper, and raised their four children. She was the proud Nana of eight grandchildren and a friend to many, many people. Along with her husband, Raymond Lee, survivors include one one, John Ray Dennis of Socorro and his children, Zachary and Zakilah; daughter, Debbie Torres, her husband, Tom and children, Jasmine and Jared of Edgewood; daughter, Sandy Fletcher, her husband, James (Chip) and their daughter, Katie and a son due in February of Monticello, GA; and daughter, Cindy Lam, her husband, Fred and children Ashli, Zane and Tayli of Socorro. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Balke of Sierra, AZ. A private, family service was held Thursday, December 31, 1998 at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM with Christine Hackett officiating. Burial followed at the Stanley, NM Cemetery with Raymond Lee Dennis, John Ray Dennis, Tom Torres, Chip Fletcher, Fred Lam, Steve Williams and Jay Santillanes serving as pallbearers. A Memorial Service and fellowship will be held on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at 12:00 noon at the Edgewood Believers Fellowship on State Road 344, one mile north of Interstate 40 in Edgewood. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Linda's memory to Gideons International, P.O. Box 50126, Albuquerque, NM 87181. Arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary of Moriarty, 832-6130.

Kozlowski -- Mrs. Jennie Metzgar-Kozlowski, 94, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away January 2, 1999. Mrs. Kozlowski is survived by her three daughters, Diana Garcia and husband, Ben, Mary Helen Kozlowski and Barbara Ortega; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Hilda Ortega; and son, Pat Kozlowski. Mrs. Kozlowski was a member of the Catholic Church, Woodmen of the World and American Legion Auxiliary Post #72. A Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover SE with Visitation after 6:30 p.m., recited by Emma Chavira. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with final viewing at the church after 9:30 a.m. Monsignor Bazan, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery (time will be announced). Martin -- After a recent stroke, William Lewis"Bill" Martin, 73, passed away December 26, 1998. He is survived by his spouse of 49 years, Barbara; and their four children, William Lewis, Jr. of Washington, D.C., George Ross of Balikpapan, Indonesia, Amy Hollister of Albuquerque and Samuel Andrew of Sunnyvale, CA. As a native Virginian, Bill entered the Army Air Force during World War II and flew B-17 combat missions with the 364th Bombardment Squadron, 305th Bombardment Group. Upon returning from the war, he completed his undergraduate degree at Marshall University. In 1951, he received his graduate degree with honors in Business Management from the University of California at Los Angeles. Bill and Barbara located to Albuquerque shortly thereafter where he began his distinguished career in various roles at Sandia National Laboratories as an Operations Manager. After nearly 40 years of services, he retired in February of 1991. During his retirement, Bill participated in the 305th Bombardment Group Association and their annual reunions, hosting the national event in Albuquerque in 1996. He and Barbara also enjoyed traveling the world. In addition to taking a cruise around the world, they visited international destinations that included Siberia, Europe, China, and South America. Services were held on December 31st at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe. The honorary pallbearers were Lewis Martin, George Martin, Sam Martin, Roscoe Williams, Richard Donovan and Charles Kruger. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Negri -- With great sadness, Mrs. Nerino Negri announced the death of her beloved husband, Nerino Negri, on January 1, 1999 in Rio Rancho, NM. Mr. Negri, noted tenor of opera and concert, was born September 29, 1912 in Bologna, Italy. He began a distinguished career as a boy soprano in the children's chorus of that city's Teatro Comunale, and in the Cathedral and numerous churches in and around Bologna. He was engaged by Rai-Air in Torino for the Chorus, and his own weekly program of arias and concert classics. Moving to Milano to sing at La Scala during the war years, he toured up and down Italy and Malta. He sang and acted as manager with several touring companies in Switzerland, Portugal and Egypt. In 1950, he sailed with a small Italian company for Peru for a three-month engagement, and remained in South America for ten years. There he enjoyed a reputation as a versatile artist, appearing on radio programs, in opera and oratorio, and as a guest soloist with many orchestras. He made a number of recordings, and with his Trio Falconieri, sang in a number of popular nightclubs of the day. In 1960, he came to the USA, where several concerts in San Diego led him to a San Francisco Opera engagement, nearly 20 years, where he met his mezzo-soprano wife, the former Maria West. They lived in New York City, singing in duo and solo concerts, a tour of Puerto Rico with T.V. concerts. Mr. Negri sang with the Philadelphia, Newark, Brooklyn and New York City Opera Companies and many other companies in Venezuela. A tenor soloist at St. Patrick's Cathedral for nearly ten years, Mr. Negri was also highly regarded as a teacher of singing and interpreter of the Puccini tradition. He and Mrs. Negri traveled extensively, setting in Rio Rancho in 1997. Mr. Negri dedicated his life to music. In both, he was meticulous in preparation and performance. A man or integrity and compassion, he was a true Bolognese in his generosity and zest for life. Funeral Services will be conducted by Rio Rancho Funeral Home, with a Funeral Mass in Albuquerque's Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel on Monday, January 4th at 2:00 p.m. with Interment immediately following. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers include Armando Giannini, Dr. Armando Giannini, Dr. Robert Giannini, Santo Genco, Fred Uhlmansiek, Vince Wells and Chris Hagedorn. Gratitude goes to the staff of Sutton Homes Alzheimer's Residence for the capable and tender care given, with special thanks to Kristie, Dawn, Adrianne and Hospice Nurse Catherine Rosacker. Otero -- Lionor S. Otero, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died Thursday, December 31, 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Sara Baca, Jessie Lucero and husband, Able, all of Albuquerque and Lou Manley of Oklahoma City, OK; sons, Juan Pablo Otero and wife, Mabel of Mountainair, NM and Mike Otero and wife, Dora of LaMesa, NM; daughter-in-law, Mella Anderson and husband, Andy of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano, NM and she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a friend to all and"LOVED EVERYBODY." Poole -- Helen M. Poole, 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died Thursday, December 31, 1998. She is survived by her husband, William J. (Bill) of the family home; son, Dan Poole and wife, Debra of Albuquerque; daughters, Marie E.
