Gay -- Geraldine"Gerry" Gay, 73, a resident of Rio Rancho for the last six years, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 1999. Gerry was born April 27, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Katherine Stone De Celles, in Northampton, Massachusetts. Gerry is survived by her three children, Carole Zibert of Rio Rancho, Bob Gay of Las Vegas, NV, and Tom Gay of Pennsylvania; one brother, Ken De Celles of Hartford, CT; four grandchildren, Ami Zibert of San Jose, CA, Merri Zibert of Albuquerque, Tom Powers and Brian Thomas of Rio Rancho; one great-grandchild, Kaela Stender. A Time of Remembrance for Gerry will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the parlor of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Griffin -- Bernett E. Griffin, (Ed), 60, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 24, 1999. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Geraldine Griffin; two sons, Tony Griffin, Tracy Griffin and wife, Sandra; a daughter, Trulee Griffin and fiancee, Randy Lucero; four grandchildren, Sam, Chad, Adrian, and Nicole. Also, surviving are parents, Bernett Griffin and Ava Bassham; sisters, Ruby Nichols and husband, Marvin, Cauletta Stumbaugh; brother, Perry Bassham and wife, Kelly; many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed was a retired Lieutenant form the Albuqueque Police Department where he served 27 devoted years. He was also a past president and member of the Fraternal Order of Police for the past 39 years. He served in the US Army and was a graduate of Northwestern University. Services will be held at Hillside Community Church, 435 Jefferson SE on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. with Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A gathering to honor Ed Griffin will be held at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge following the Interment. Pallbearers will be Robert Valtierra, Turman Bragg, Bob Foote, Rocky Nogales, Mark Norlander, Phil Frostensen, Henry Nunez, Tom Trujillo, Ivall Miller; Honorary Pallbearers, the Albuquerque Police Department.

Hamm -- Jeraldine E."Jeri" Hamm, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Friday, April 23, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Shaun Newton and wife, Nina of Albuquerque and Steve Newton and wife, Linda of Des Moines, IA; granddaughters, Natalie Newton, Dawn Barreras and husband, J.B., all of Albuquerque, Niko Newton of Santa Fe, and Lisa Newton and Kathy Newton of Des Moines, IA; grandsons, Mike Newton and Bob Newton of Des Moines, IA; brother, Delbert Madsen of Merrit Island, FL; and sisters, Jean Zaccagnino of Flemington, NJ and Phyllis Berling of Middleton, NJ. Mrs. Hamm retired from the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. She loved to travel and was loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and friends. Services will be Tuesday at noon at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Lem Boyles officiating. Henningsen -- Montelle Bearden Henningsen, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 22, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Thomas J. Henningsen and wife, Kate of Albuquerque and Myron H. Henningsen II and wife, Sandy of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, T. Michael Henningsen, Timothy Henningsen and wife, Susan, Kristin Henningsen, all of Albuqueruque, Mark Henningsen and wife, Deana of Hot Springs, AR, Todd Henningsen and Chris Henningsen, both of Scottsdale, AZ; and great-grandson, Connor Henningsen of Hot Springs, AR. Mrs. Henningsen was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Henningsen. The youngest of four sisters, Montelle danced professionally with her sisters in Washington, DC from 1930-1940. The Yates Sisters, as they were known professionally, performed in the White House for President Roosevelt in 1934. After moving to New Mexico, Montelle and her husband, Myron owned and operated Resort Publishing Co. in Albuquerque and the Sleepy Hollow Ski Lodge in Red River. During that time, Montelle was active in choreographing town plays and other special events in Red River. She later wrote a regular entertainment column in the popular Albuquerque magazine, Albuquerque This Month. Mrs. Henningsen was a member of Daughters of the Nile. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho. Kinzer -- David L. Kinzer, 37, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 22, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Kinzer; parents, John and Eleanor Kinzer of Albuquerque; sister, Mary Kinzer-Johnson and husband, Dick of Clancy, MT; brother, John Kinzer and wife, Marcie of Albuquerque, and many close relatives and friends who loved him. David graduated from Sandia High School in 1980 and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1986. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 285, president of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, and an active member of Desert Springs Bible Church. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway Blvd. NE, with Pastor Paul Kemp officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be John Kinser, Chuck Harper, Ed Trujillo, Jonathan Elliott, Carlo Lucero, Dean Penneman, and John Merwin. Miller -- Kenneth C. Miller, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, died Friday, April 23, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the family home; son, Douglas B. Miller and wife, Linda of Garden City, MI; granddaughters, Chelsea R. Miller and Charla M. Wladysiak and husband, Matthew, all of Garden City, MI; great-grandson, Kyle Douglas Wladysiak of Garden City, MI; sister-in-law, Pauline Collett Haley of Angola, IN: and brother-in-law, John V. Brown of Mobile, AL. Mr. Miller spend 2 1/2 years in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and graduated from Tri State College in Angola, Indiana, with an engineering degree. Mr. Miller spent 25 years as a sales representative for Chemcentral Corp. in Romulus, MI. Memorial Services are pending. Ortiz -- Celina A. Ortiz, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for 38 years, died Saturday, April 24, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Velma L'Esperance of Albuquerque; sons, Alfonso Ortiz, Jr. and wife, Jeannette of Albuquerque and Nelson Ortiz and wife, Ernestine of Albuquerque; brothers, Jesse Garcia and wife, Rosana of Pinnole, CA, Lucio Garcia of Oakland, CA and Ofene Garcia and wife, Carlotta of Las Vegas, NM; sisters, Grace Duran and husband, Eloy, Gertrude Ortega, Predy Aragon and husband, Guadalupe, all of Albuquerque, and Dorothy L. 'Esperance of Las Vegas, NM; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Ortiz, Sr. in 1993. Celina was born April 8, 1912 in Chacon, NM. She was a graduate of Allison-James High School in Santa Fe in 1934 and enjoyed dancing, ceramics and macrame. Poulson -- Alfred R."Bus" Poulson, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Friday, April 23, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judith Poulson of Albuquerque; son, Larry Poulson and wife, Charlotte of Reno, NV; daughter, Rhonda Meyers and husband, Dean of Gastonia, NC; son-in-law, Allan Sovereign of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Michael Sovereign and wife, Debi, Sheri Sovereign, Scott Sovereign and wife, Christy, Denise Culp and Alison Mason and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Kaleb, Jessica and Tommy Sovereign; great-great-grandchild, Briana Dianne Sovereign; and brother, John M. Poulson of Lone Grove, OK. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Dianne Sovereign in 1998. Alfred was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church. Rothfeld -- Eleanor Rothfeld, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Saturday, April 24, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Walter of the family home; son, Dr. Tom Rothfeld and wife, Rosemary Traub of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Philip and Peter Rothfeld; sister, Josephine Freifelder of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Hertzel Freifelder and wife, Roz of Tamarac, FL. Smith -- Alma Hanson Smith, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for 49 years, passed away Friday, April 23, 1999. Alma was born on April 11, 1914, in Perry's Landing, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel M. Smith, Jr., her brother, Douglas, Weems Hanson, Jr., and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hoge and her husband, Jim Hoge of Albuquerque; her sons, Daniel M. Smith III and his wife, Sharon Smith of Santa Fe, Gaylord E. Smith of Prunedale, CA, and Paul H. Smith of Chatsworth, CA. Also surviving is her sister, LaMay Adamson of Michigan; five grandchildren, Deborah D. Pierson of Albuquerque, Cheryl L. Ferren and husband, Tracy Ferren of Birmingham, Alabama, Jon A. Pierson of Houston, TX, James E. Smith and wife, Mary Smith of Lamy, NM and Patrick Smith of Chatsworth, CA; and three great-grandsons, Ty Smith, Benjamin Ferren, and Sam Ferren; together with many other relatives and friends, and her loving cat,"Honey," who brought her much joy. Alma attended the University of Texas and worked for the Freeport Sulphur Company in Freeport, Texas, where she met her husband, Dan. They were married in New Orleans on April 10, 1938 and moved to Albuquerque in May, 1950. Alma worked many years as the office manager/secretary of her husband's CPA firm. With her husband, Alma started and ran her own travel agency, Atlas Travel Service, which she sold upon retirement in 1980. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The burden of advancing Alzheimers Disease in her last years never diminished her smile, laughter, and happiness. The family is especially grateful to the staff of St. Francis Place, a very special residence, for their loving care in this last period of her life. A visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, with Dr. Paul Debenport officiating, following private burial.
