Mr. Ortega is also survived by one son, Christopher E. Ortega; one daughter, Tiffany N. Mr. Ortega was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mr. Ortega will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. MERCURE -- MSGT Alphonse J. Mercure (USAF, Ret.), 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, passed away peacefully at Manor Care Heights Nursing Home, Friday, February 6, 2004. He is survived by his wife and partner of 30 years, Annie of Albuquerque; step-daughter Linda Ortega and husband Lee Ortega of Albuquerque; grandson Niles Lecroy, and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Floria Brophy of Florida; nephew, Jerry Brophy and wife Tina of Florida; as well as many other nieces, nephews and relatives. MSGT Mercure was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, in 1974, and son, Martin, who died in 1964 at the age of 6. He was born Thursday, March 13, 1913, in Marquette, Michigan. MSGT Mercure served in the United States Air Force from 1941 until his retirement in 1963. He received the Commendation Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Silver Clasp with Loops, and Air Force longevity Service Award Ribbon with Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. He served in Civil Service from 1965 to 1979. MSGT Mercure was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a kind, generous, lovable person and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Rosary will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2004, 7:00 p.m., at. French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Cremation will follow. Private interment of cremains will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary Lomas Chapel, Tuesday, February 10, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. until after the Rosary. ARMIJO -- Mrs. Bernardita Armijo, 82, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on January 27, 2004. Mrs. Armijo is survived by her one son, Ricardo Armijo; two daughters, Velma Rocha and husband, Leo, Lelia Brito and husband, Jim; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Armijo was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Armijo; one son, Eppie Armijo; a grandson, Martin and a great granddaughter, Amanda. Mrs. Armijo was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Armijo will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. LOVATO -- Wilma T. Lovato, 86, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2003. She was born on April 13, 1917 in Los Valdez's, Colorado. Mrs. Lovato is survived by her son, Jose Samuel Lovato; daughters; Sally Harger and husband Bob, Lucy Anstett and husband Joe, Jessie Zamora and husband Martin, Rosemary Charles and Jenna Armijo; brother, Louis Trujillo and wife Linda; sister, Gloria Lopez and husband Larry and her brother-in-law, Pete Lovato and wife Elenor; 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Farewell to Mom. Mothers never really die their love is just to strong with every sleep and every wake, their memories live on and on. A word of love, a word of praise for mothers just like you. She brought her children comfort when their lives were feeling blue. Garcia -- Mr. Martin D. Garcia died Thursday, July 17, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 45. Martin was a devoted father, brother and grandfather. He was a lover of music and was a gifted musician and guitarist. Martin was a graduate of St. Pius X High School and went on to become a successful entrepreneur and businessman. He is survived by his wife, Debra Garcia; parents, William and Viola Garcia; daughters, Jennifer Garcia and husband, Rudy, Lisa Vaughn and husband, Jeremiah, and Jessica Garcia, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Mark Garcia of California, Jim Garcia and wife, Gloria of Denver, CO, John Garcia of Albuquerque, Steven Garcia and wife, Loretta of Montana, and Michael Garcia and wife, Theresa of Albuquerque; sisters, Lara Garcia of Albuquerque, Imelda Frances and husband, Tim of Chicago, IL, Catherine Scott and husband, Dan, Cecilia Garcia de Ortega and husband, Ricardo, and Maria Geer and husband, Rod, all of Albuquerque. Martin is also survived by two grandchildren, Christian and Ryan Garcia. Rosary and Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2003 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Gonazales -- Frank Gonzales Jr., beloved husband and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2002, at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was kind and generous to all he met and loved. We cherished him and were privileged to have cared for him during his illness. Frank was born in Blanco, NM on July 24, 1922 to Frank and Jacobita Gonzales. He was the second of eight children. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country proudly in World War II with the rank of M.M.M. First Class. He served aboard the USS Arcturus for three years and took part in many battles, including the famous D-day attack on Normandy. On a snowy day in December of 1944, he married Helen Archuleta while on leave from his ship. They were married for 58 beloved years. His work career included several interesting professions. Frank owned two Phillips 66 service stations and was an assistant manager at Western Auto. He also worked as a government contractor for Mission Research Corporation and his last job was at National Car Rental. The most important things in Frank's life were his family and his religion. He was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, and enjoyed serving his church as a mayordomo for many years. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and tending to his garden. He had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes on others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jacobita; and his sister, Celia. He is survived by his wife, Helen; eight children, Crusita Padilla and husband, Manuel, Ray Gonzales and wife, Becky, Rita Gonzales, Elaine Ramirez and husband, Manuel, Charles Gonzales and wife Debbie, Donna Gonzales, Gary Gonzales and wife, Sandy, and Cindy and Tony Dibble; fifteen grandchildren, Richard Padilla and wife, Agnes, Lorraine Robertson and husband, John, Therese Padilla, Tami Howes and husband, David, Daniel Gonzales and wife, Lea, JoAnna Gonzales, Manuel Ramirez, Jr., Robert Ramirez and wife, Lisa, Angela Ramirez, Dominic Gonzales, Benjamin Gonzales, Sarah Gonzales, Nicholas and his mother, Sabina Basham, KC Flores and Jessica Jaramillo, and Kyle Dibble; six great-grandchildren, Alicia Ortega, James Flores, Isaac Ramirez, Lourdes Padilla, Danilo Padilla, and Hailey Howes; three brothers, Candido Gonzales and wife, Sally, Brother Donald Gonzales, and Martin Gonzales and wife, Ruth; and three sisters, Lucia Gonzales, Rebecca Gomez and husband, Gilbert, and Ramoncita Sanchez and husband, Joe and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. One of his favorite greetings was"Do you want to shake the hand of the man who shook the world?" Anyone who knew him can appreciate this, and knew they had a friend for life. He will be dearly missed by all of us. May he rest in peace. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Final viewing will be held on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m to 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Casados -- Albertino"Casey" Casados, 72, passed away on August 17, 2002. He was born on November 4, 1929 in Cerrillos, NM. He was retired from the National Guard and the City of Albuquerque. He was also the Grounds Manager for the Albuquerque Dukes for many years. Albertino had a great love for fishing and hunting and was a member of the North Fourth Senior Citizen Fishing Club and the Meadow Lark Fishing Club of Rio Rancho. Albertino was a very kind and generous person and will be deeply missed by his loving friends and family. He is survived by two brothers, Manuel Casados and wife, Nellie and Ernesto"Nieto" Casados and wife, Mary; one sister, Biolanda"Yolanda" Casados, nephew and nieces closest to him are Gilbert Casados, Dorothy Romero, Tillie McCann, Sadie Ortega, JoAnna Roger, Theresa Martinez and Barbara Casados and also numerous great and great-great-nephews and nieces. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. the St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Palmo Valente on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church.
