REIN -- HILBURN "HIB" DALE Age 83, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2011 with his loving family at his side. Hib was born in Keokuk, Iowa, July 25, 1927. While serving in the US Army at Fort Carson he met Betty Staffan, who would become his wife of 58 years. A salesman by trade, Hib never met a stranger. He traveled New Mexico and Colorado for the Millar Coffee Company, eventually establishing a home in Albuquerque in the mid-1960s. In semi-retirement, no longer selling coffee and restaurant supplies, Hib hit-the-road representing artisans to numerous hospitality industry gift shops for a number of years. The most important focus in his life was his family; his wife Betty, his four favorite daughters; Connie Beimer, Teresa Foster, Christi Rein and Barbara Spear; his son Jeff Rein; and his grandchildren, Christopher Hinz, Molly and Zach Foster, Cody and Jonah Spear, and Kelsey Rein, the mother of his great-grandchild, Deryck, all of Albuquerque. Other survivors include his sister, Gwen Overton of Burlington, Iowa; his brother, Ed Rein of Salem, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Hib's strong heart, unwavering sense of honesty, and incredible work ethic made him a beautiful husband, father, grandfather, and role model. His love for Betty and his family cannot be expressed in words but live on in the enthusiasm and commitment to a life well lived shared by those who loved him and were nurtured by him. Memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, June 13, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
