Obituary for Griego

Mr. Gregorio S. Griego, 74, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 29, 2001. Mr. Griego is the beloved husband of 54 years to Mrs. Carol Griego. He is also survived by a two sisters, Connie Chavez and Bernie Sanchez and husband Moises; three brothers, Pablo Griego, Refugio Griego and Valentino Griego; an aunt, Ramona Bernal; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Griego was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post 72 for 45 years, retired from Albuquerque Public School in 1985 after 26 years, past president for Local 8670-Communication Workers of America. A visitation will be Sunday evening at 6:30 at St. Edwins Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 by Deacon J.O. Luna. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 11:00 until 11:30 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 noon at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW, Father Bill Sanchez, celebrant. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Ernest Taylor, Phil Lucero, Santiago Serna, Alvino Contreras, Raymond Chavez and Moises Sanchez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Pablo Griego, Refugio Griego, Valentino Griego and Richard Baca.
