Joe "Lalo" (Little Joe) H. Garcia, 84, passed away at his home November 22, 2001. Joe was born October 4, 1916 in Santa Rosa, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Garcia and son Dan Garcia. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa"Terri" Sanchez; grandson, Dennis Sanchez; granddaughters, Denise and Dee A. Sanchez of Albuquerque, Carrie Lynn Morgan of San Diego, Aimee Ann Nickols and Jeff Garcia of Torrance, CA; great-grandchildren, Josh Sanchez of Albuquerque, Codey and Samantha Nickols of Torrance, CA, Caroline and Alexander of San Diego, CA, and special son-in-law, Raymond J. Sanchez. Joe and Edith moved to Albuquerque in 1939. He worked in many grocery stores in Albuquerque and retired from UNMH. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very active at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was a very active man until his illness, and enjoyed singing and being with his grandchildren. Joe loved football and going to St. Joseph's Pace Program. We'll miss you "Papo." Dad, I know you are with Nana and your son in Heaven. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW, on Tuesday, November 27, 201 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the Parish Hall.
