Alice P. Chavez, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, passed away Friday, may 18, 2001, at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seledon N. Chavez; parents, Nicolas and Rumaldita Pacheco; and brothers, Florenio and Juan Pacheco. She is survived by her daughter, Louisa and husband, Rev. Jesus G. Bermudez of Albuquerque; sisters, Beatrice and husband, Florentino Lopez of Bosque, NM, Libby Pacheco of Albuquerque, Lily and husband, Jerry Jaramillo of Lancaster, CA and Betty Barela of Belen; brother, Gilly B. Pacheco of Albuquerque; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church and an active member of United Methodist Women. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church, 700 Granite NW, with Rev. Jesus Bermudez officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church, 700 Granite NW, 87102.
