Obituary for Martinez

Agneda"Gramita" Delgado Martinez, 104 years old, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2001, leaving five generations of her family to say goodbye. Gramita was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Sostenes and Emily Moore-Delgado and she was so fortunate to have lived in three centuries. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto and three of her children, Gilbert Jr., Robert and Emily. She is also survived by three living Children, Louie and wife, Lorraine, Carlos Hector and wife, Aurora and daughter, Mary A.Garza along with daughter-in-law, Lenore Martinez and son-in-law, Jim Bonney. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; half sisters, Pita Montoya and Marygrace Salas; and half brothers, Phil and Alberto Delgado. Agneda lived a wonderful full life and was known to all as"Gramita" a name she loved. She played piano even after her 100th birthday and taught most of her grandchildren to play. Funeral Services for Mrs. Martinez will be held on Monday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Martinez, Jim D. Bonney, George Bonney, Carl Martinez, Bob Martinez Jr. and Randy Bonney. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Wells, David Garza, David Martinez, Don Delgado, Mark Martinez, Rick Miera and Floyd Buzzy Hursh. Visitation for Mrs. Martinez will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Salazar & Sons Mortuary Chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church. A special thank you to the Manzano del Sol Nursing Home for their kindness to"Gramita".
