Obituary for Mcelfresh

Mary Katherine Finkenauer McElfresh (Kay), 78, died at Presbyterian Hospital on July 26, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Ray McElfresh; son, Paul McElfresh and wife, Julee; daughter, Nancy DeWitt and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Matthew, Scott and Karen McElfresh and Mande and Emily Hastings; sister-in-law, Diana Watson; nephews, Steve and Brad Finkenauer; and niece, Vicki Palmer. Kay was born in Denver, CO on January 3, 1923. She and Ray were married in 1945. They moved to Albuquerque in 1954. Kay was a charter member of Hope Evangelical Free Church having helped start the church in 1955. She was an executive secretary during her professional career and even into retirement. Kay was a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital with over 4,000 hours of service. She and Ray enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and abroad and researching their family genealogy. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 30, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 4710 Juan Tabo NE, with Dr. Gary L. Hamburger officiating and Bob Wilson assisting. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Ben DeWitt, Jim Hastings, Brad Finkehauer, Matthew McElfresh, Scott cElfresh, and Curt Horton.
