Obituary for Hartmann

Robert A. Hartmann, 78, a resident of Rio Rancho for 28 years, went to be with the Lord July 27, 2001. Robert was born Jan. 26, 1923. He is survived by: Theresa, his loving wife of 52 years; his son Joseph Hartmann and spouse Lori and grandson Michael-Dean, his son Eric Hartman and his spouse Barbara and grandsons Joshua, David and Michael; his brother Wilbur and spouse Carol; his sisters, Marian Hartmann and Catherine Buckley and her spouse John; and many nieces and nephews. He is a WWII veteran, and served in the U.S. Navy until 1946 when he was honorably discharged as a Radioman Second Class. His military medals include the American Theater Medal, European Theater Medal 1 Star, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was a retired cement mason and member of the Operative Plaster and Cement Masons Local No. 254 in Albuquerque. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 118. The family will receive friends Monday, 6-8 p.m., at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Road at Meadowlark Lane. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Hospice, 4725 Indian School NE, Albuquerque, N.M., 87110.
