Obituary for Scott

Alma Scott was born in Mullinville, KS on November 10, 1916 and died in Sun City, AZ on July 4, 2001. She got her B.A. from Kansas State and her Master's from Oregon State, was an accomplished home economics teacher for many years, and married Robert Scott in 1940. In addition, she survived the '30s Dust Bowl in Kansas, wrote an unpublished manuscript, traveled a lot in her later years, and lived in Kansas, Montana, Washington, Hawaii, and Arizona. Her son, John; her husband, Robert; her daughter, Roberta, all preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Helen Nelson; her son-in-law, Douglas Smathers; her grandchildren, Amy and Mike Scott and Robert and Ann Smathers; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Scott. Her Memorial Service will be in Albuquerque, NM at Asbury United Methodist Church (10000 Candelaria NE), on July 14, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association.
