Obituary for Semans

Frank "Kipp" Semans passed away October 29, 2001. A Scholar and a gentleman, he will be missed by those who loved him. Kipp was born in Buffalo, NY, September 12, 1925. A WWII veteran, he completed his schooling at Colgate College, during which time he met and married Midge, his beloved wife of 45 years. Midge preceded Kipp in death 7 years ago. Kipp moved to Albuquerque in 1995 and was a frequent visitor to the golf courses around town. In 1997 Kipp married Elizabeth "Betty" Kitchel, his friend, traveling companion, golfing buddy and fellow cubs fan. He was blessed to have shared the last days of his life with Betty, who stood by him during his long battle against cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. A retired Sales Manager for Portec, Kipp was well liked and respected by his colleagues and customers alike. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Surviving Kipp are daughters, Marticia King and husband, Jim of Chicago, M. Kipp Cynoweth and husband, Phil of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ryan and Monica Pennington, of Albuquerque; and his stepmother, Marilu Semans of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, at Sarah Road and Meadowlark Lane in Rio Rancho. Their number is 892-9920.
