Obituary for Montoya

Beatriz "Betty" Montoya, 63, a resident of Albuquerque for 61 years, died Friday, October 26, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Cristobal Montoya of the family home; son, Anthony C. Montoya and wife, Lorraine of Albuquerque; daughter, Michelle A. Martin and husband, Robert of Sandia Park, NM; grandchildren, Anthony C. Montoya, Jr., Lisa Marie Montoya, Matthew Montoya, and Christopher Martin; parents, Ralph and Lydia Gurule; and brothers, Richard and Gilbert Gurule. Mrs. Montoya was an active member of the American Cancer Society Reach for Recovery and St. Vincent's de Paul Society. She retired as a secretary from Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education in 1996. She was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph, NW with Fr. Frank Prieto, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Baca, Anthony Montoya, Jr., Matthew Montoya, Christopher Creech, Burt Dohle, and Orlando Vigil.
