Obituary for Baca

Ernest T. Baca, born on November 18, 1912 to the late Luciano and Vitilia Baca, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2001 at his home in Pueblitos. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Ernest retired from Sandia Base in 1972 after 28 years of outstanding service. Also, he proudly served his country in the US Air Force during W.W.II. He is preceded in death by parents; his three sisters, Jennie and Vicky Baca and Lucille Luts; four brothers, Tony, Frank, and two infant brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy of the family home; his two sons, Jimmy Hoover and dear friend, Nona Anderson, Ernest Baca and his wife, Anna of Jarales; one daughter, Ann Mascarenas and husband, Ray of Pueblitos; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Lou Weatherspoon of Pueblitos, Pauline Carrillo and husband, Joe of Apple Valley, CA, Mary Ann Sanchez and husband, Horacio"Shina", and Sophie Torres and husband, Florentino, both of Albuquerque; and his two brothers, Arthur and wife, Cleara of Albuquerque and Joe of Belen. Ernest is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A Viewing will be held on Monday, 5:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Father David officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
