Drew Timothy Metheny. On October 22, 2001, Drew Timothy Metheny passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, NM after a brief illness. He was 18 years old. A native of Albuquerque, Drew lived with his family in Albuquerque, Elkhart, Indiana and also in Santa Fe. As active members of the Santa Fe Community, Drew and his mother participated in many activities advocating the rights of students with disabilities. They also worked to further a barrier-free and universally accessible environment for everyone with disabilities in our community. He was featured in a public service film produced by the City of Santa Fe which promoted the proper methods for the use of handicapped parking facilities. Drew is survived by his parents, Jim and Susan Metheny of Santa Fe; a brother, Nathan; and his sister, Samantha, both of Santa Fe; paternal grandparents, Bill and Ann Metheny of Mesa, AZ; maternal grandparents, Donna and Wally Rhine formerly of LaPorte, IN, currently of Sebring, FL; many uncles, aunts and cousins; and many loving friends around the world. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2001 at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. also at Berardinelli Family Chapel.
