Obituary for Herrera

Feliciano "Chano" Herrera, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, NM passed away unexpectedly on Thursday. He was born on October 2, 1921, to Isabelita Padilla Herrera and Juan De Herrera. He was united in marriage in November 1949 to Helen Romero in Las Vegas, NM. His love and devotion to his family will be dearly missed. He was a special husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was admired by all who knew him for his never-ending hard work and dedication to his family and farm. Feliciano lived his life as an example for all to follow. He most enjoyed his grandchildren and loved the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen R. Herrera. He is survived by daughters, Dora and husband, George of Albuquerque, Norma Herrera of the family home in Cleveland, Debbie and husband, Joe Alexander of Cleveland, Dolores"Dottie" and husband, Brian Gutierrez of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Erik Gomez, Felicia Alexander, Gabrielle Gutierrez, Franceska Alexander, and Allen Gutierrez. Rosary Devotional Services will be conducted Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gertrudes Church in Mora. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gertrudes Church in Mora with Father Tien-Tri-Nguyen as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Herrera Family Plot in Cleveland with the following as Casket Bearers, Candido Mascarenas, Leonard Casados, Benny Maes, Erik Gomez, Milnor Herrera and Mike Herrera. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be all his grandchildren, Dan Espinoza, Edward Fernandez, Lon Hughes, Tony Pino, Alfredo Roybal, Guillermo Montanes.
