Obituary for Nials

Roy L. Nials, C.P.A., a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly November 5, 2001. He was born in Quay County, New Mexico on November 1, 1936 and was a graduate of Logan High School and the University of New Mexico. He was a member of Albuquerque Christian Church. Roy is survived by his wife, Paula K. Nials; two sons, Jon, and wife, Teresa, and Robert, of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, James, Aaron, Aidan and Ginny, of Austin; two step-daughters, Kay Roth and Suzanne Johnson; two special surrogate children, Ben Fearn and Sue Ordway; two brothers, Ray and Marvin, both of Tucumcari, NM; four sisters, Collene Derrick of Canyon, TX; Evelyn Waite of Rolla, MO; Betty Behrendt and Edna Booker, both of Albuquerque; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Jean Kuykendall of Alto, NM; an aunt, Edna Thomas of Logan, NM; an uncle, Jay Nials of Nara Visa, NM; 15 nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Heights Christian Church, 6935 Comanche Road NE, in Albuquerque. Larry D. Pierson officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray Nials, Marvin Nials, Jerry Derrick, John Behrendt, Loyd Waite and George Booker. Honorary pallbearers will be James Nials, Aaron Nials, Ben Fearn, Dustin Nials, Marvin Nials Jr., John Nials, Allen Nials, Teddy Nials, Jerry Derrick Jr., Curtis Derrick, Brent Derrick, Ken Waite, Kody Waite, and Michael Coe. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made either to Albuquerque Christian Church, c/o 8100 Mountain Road NE, Suite 103, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110, or the American Diabetes Association.
