Obituary for Yost

Luther F. Yost, 88, a resident of Albuquerque in 1949-51 and 1973 to present, died Friday, August 10, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Toby Yost; son, John L. Yost and Linda Blair; daughters, Jean Stefano and Bruce Briner, all of Albuquerque, NM, Carolyn Clarke and husband, Jim, of Denver, CO, and Ann Mason of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, David Stefano, Jennifer Meaden, Susan and Scott Coveyduck and eight great-grandchildren including two sets of twins. Mr. Yost graduated from North Carolina State University in 1933 with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering and was a member of the Theta Tau scholastic fraternity. Mr. Yost enjoyed a successful career with General Electric and retired in 1973. He and his wife owned Thunderbird Travel Agency from 1974 to 1981. Mr. Yost was a member of the Skal International Travel Society and ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents). Formerly, he was an active member of First Methodist Church participating in the weekly program of feeding the homeless for eight years. Since becoming residents of Montebello, Mr. and Mrs. Yost have been members of Sandia Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to express special thanks to the residents and support staff of Montebello on Academy. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE with Reverend Dewey Johnson, officiating.
