Obituary for Whiteman

Mildred Eunice, long time resident of Albuquerque passed away Saturday January 6, 2001 after a brief illness. She was born October 18, 1920 to Paul and Manuela Hapke. Her father Paul was a career Naval Officer. Mildred's early childhood experiences included accompanying her parents to Haiti where Paul was stationed for several years. Her early education was provided by her mother using the then popular Calvert System. A degree was awarded by the University of Wisconsin in 1943. After graduation, she worked for several government agencies including the General Accounting Office in Washington, D. C. Where she met and married Marks Whiteman. She is survived by a son, Mark Andrew of Raytown, MO; sister, Eileen Thoubboron of Pittsfield, MA; stepdaughter, Lois Frick of Potomac, MD; stepson, James Whiteman of this city; one nephew, John Thoubboron and several nieces. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. Santa Fe National Cemetery, with the Reverend Lars Hamerson officiating. Cremains will be interred with her beloved husband Marks.
