Obituary for Chavez

Margaret A. Chavez, 88, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, returned home to the Lord on January 6, 2001. Mrs. Chavez was a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons Joseph, Benito and Barney Chavez. She is survived by her son Ernest A. Chavez and his wife Rosie, daughter Lillian Gonzales and her husband Ely of Santa Rosa, NM, son Jesse Chavez and his wife Sue of Laurel, Montana, daughter Mary Arche of Denver, Colorado, son Johnny Chavez, daughter Teresita Warren and her husband Nick of Hindsville, AR, and daughter Rebecca Martinez. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Chavez will be held on Wednesday form 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Garcia Mortuary, located at 8th and Iron. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., also at Garcia Mortuary. Final Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning in the Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 817 Arno, S.E. with interment to follow in Golden, NM. Casket bearers will be Benito Chavez, Roberto Chavez, Lawrence Chavez, Gary Gonzales, Ronald Gonzales, and Gerald Hoehne. Honorary Casket bearers will be Daniel Chavez, Joe Chavez, Greg Hoehne, Anthony Maes, Ray Lucero, Manuel Sorio, Michael Chavez, Felix Casados and Jonathan Torres. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave., S.W.
