Obituary for Kelly

Mildred S. Kelly passed away on May 10, 2001 after a brief illness. She was born in Van Houten, NM on November 21, 1914. She had a wonderful marriage of 51 years to Ulis B. Kelly who preceded her in death on June 14, 1999. She is survived by her son, Robert J. Kelly and wife, Claudia; granddaughter, Kristin, whom she adored; brothers, Mike Sims and wife, Darnell and John Simovich and wife, Marie; sisters-in-law, Opal Kelly and Geraldine Kennedy and husband, Clifford; brother-in-law, John Kelly and wife, Pauline; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Gatti and Ruth Raicevich. Her family was everything to her and she kept in touch weekly with them. Mildred worked at various secretarial and clerical jobs in their travels in the military. She was active in her church, La Mesa Presbyterian in Albuquerque, and a volunteer at Kirtland Air Force Base. We wish to thank Janet Hospers, Ethel Ferguson, Kathie Leyendecker, May Jackson, Tom and Mary Ann Davis, Mary and John Walley, John and June Perovich, and Pastor Trey Hammond for their care and support of Mildred. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2001, 10:00a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial service to follow at La Mesa Presbyterian, 7401 Copper Ave. at 2:00p.m. with, Trey Hammond, officiating. Friends may visit on Monday, May 14, 2001 from 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd N.E.
