Obituary for Sanchez

Arthur C. Sanchez, age 88, passed away November 17, 2001 at his home in Albuquerque. He was born December 25, 1912 in Belen, New Mexico to the late Alfredo and Carlota (Chavez) Sanchez. He is survived by his wife, Marie Flora Zimmerly Sanchez of Albuquerque; two daughters, Joan Elizabeth and her husband, William Fisher of Kerrville, Texas, Lourdes Irene and her husband, John Elias of Albuquerque; one son, Samuel Patrick and his wife, Laura Rose Sanchez of Albuquerque; three sisters, Carolina Chavez of Albuquerque, Theodora and her husband, Milton Patton of Arkansas, Pele and her husband, Ray Romero of Belen, New Mexico; two sisters-in-law, Ernestina Sanchez of Belen, Amalia Sanchez of Belen; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Tamara, Angelina, Matthew Sanchez and Deanna Brunick, Brian, Bruce, Byron, Juliet Fisher and Jane Switzer, John, Justin, Joann Elias; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Switzer, Dawn Fisher, Hunter and Garrett Fisher, David, Benjamin and Nathan Sanchez. Two brothers, Otoniel and Adam Sanchez, preceded him in death. Arthur was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and was previously a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Belen Council. Later he became a Forth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was an usher at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church for a few years and Immaculate Conception Church in Albuquerque for over 20 years. Visitation will be held Friday afternoon, November 23, 2001 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. N.E. The Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son. The Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix N.E. Pallbearers will be Michael Sanchez, Matt Sanchez, John Arthur Elias, Bruce Fisher, Byron Fisher and Michael Burnick. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The arrangements for Arthur C. Sanchez are under the direction of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors.
