Obituary for Gonzales

Rebecca M. Gonzales, 75, a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, Tuesday, November 20, 2001. Ms. Gonzales was a resident of Albuquerque; and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Esther Lucero; she was the eldest of seven daughters which three preceded her in death, Orlina Gomez, Ruby Hendry and Lydia Rojas. She is survived by her loving children, Felix Gonzales and wife Tammy, Elizabeth Garcia, Evangeline Gonzales, Cleo Marquez, and Velma Garcia and husband Israel all of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Priscilla Corral and husband Joe, Sadie Bernal and husband Jacob, Evelyn Lucero; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who loved and knew her. Visitations for Ms. Gonzales will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway SE, with Pastor Hilcias Barrios officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Anthony Sanchez, Esquipula Gonzales Jr., Benito Sanchez, Erik Garcia, Karl Garcia, and Israel Garcia. Honorary bearers will be Nelson Marquez and Jacob Bernal Jr. Funeral services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth Street NW.
