Obituary for Weakley

Marilyn Weakley, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, March 1, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Deen and husband, David of Littleton, Co; sons, Chris Weakley of Key Largo, Fl and Dana Weakley of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Joel and Stephanie Deen of Littleton, Co, Michelle and Daniel Weakley of Las Vegas, NV; and brother, Leonard Brown of Boise, ID. She was preceded in death, by her husband, Lawrence P. Weakley, in 1991 and sister, Laurene Hawkins. Marilyn was born in Nebraska and raised in Idaho where she met her husband, Lawrence P. Weakley. They were married in 1945 and she accompanied him during his many tours of service in the United States Air Force. They retired in Albuquerque in 1968 where he worked for the BIA. They continued to travel throughout the world and the United States. Marilyn enjoyed painting, volunteering for the Red Cross at Kirtland Air Force Base Pharmacy and working as a judge in elections. She had a great love for the outdoors, the mountains and always had a smile for others. Marilyn loved exotic flowers especially gardenias. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Paul Gleason officiating. Burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Monday, March 5, 2001, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Hospice Memorial Foundation, 4725 Indian School Rd.
