Obituary for Chavez

Mr. Robert S. Chavez, 69, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 29, 2001. Mr. Chavez is the beloved husband of 47 years to Mrs. Elsie Chavez. He is also survived by his daughter, Mary Lou Chavez-Nieto and husband, Mario; sons, Phil Chavez and wife, Rita, Robert Paul Chavez, Ivan Chavez and wife, Lucille and Julian Chavez; three sisters, Maggie Delgado and husband, Ned, Eva Tafoya and husband, Leo and Nora Armijo and husband, Ray; one brother, Joe Eloy Esquibel; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church, he was a guitarist with the Holy Family Choir, he owned and operated Robert Chavez Lath and Plaster Co. and was the band leader of Robert Chavez and the Blue Angels Band. Visitation will be Tuesday evening after 6:30 p.m. at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon O.J. Luna. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Father Bill Sanchez at twelve noon at St. Edwins Church. Interment will follow at the Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Phil Chavez, Robert Paul Chavez, Ivan Chavez, Julian Chavez, Eric Chavez and Robert Ray Chavez. Honorary will be, Joe Eloy Esquibel. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
