Barbara H. Brookins, 63, passed away peacefully at her home on September 21, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Sadie Flashman of Boston, MA, and the loving sister of the late Harvey Flashman. She was a beloved mother to her daughter, Rachel Brookins, and to her daughter, Laura Johnson and son-in-law, Aaron Johnson. She was a treasured nana to her three grandchildren; Delaney, Keaton, and Saunder. Barbara was actively involved in Congregation Albert, Albuquerque Hadassah and Congregation Albert Sisterhood. She was a past president of the Women's Division of Albuquerque and a longtime supporter of NMSO, KNME, and ACLOA. Our mom was always a lady. She was warm and wonderful, intelligent, complex, loyal, and generous, especially with her love. Forever loved and missed by her family and many devoted friends, she will always be our special Barb. Services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2001, 2:00 p.m., at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE, with Rabbi Joseph R. Black, officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Memorial Park. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
