Obituary for Barnard

Jack G. Barnard, 84, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 3, 2001. He was born February 27, 1916 son of Reuben S. and Martha Boen Barnard. Jack is survived by his wife, Wanda Barnard of the family home; sons, Steve and Jack Wayne; daughters, Linda Sims and husband, Jack, Marty Winquest and husband, Buck; stepdaughter, Diane Payne and husband, Steve; 12 grandchildren; and 21 geat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J. Arthur, Reuben, and Homer F. Barnard; and sisters, Opal Brunner, Alabama Barnard and Dovey Denton. After serving in WWII, Jack settled in Albuquerque where he established Jack's Tree Service and J.T.S. Enterprises. After retirement, he enjoyed his membership at First Baptist Church of Albuquerque, reading his bible, gardening, bird watching and the companionship of his little dog, Spike. Jack was a caring, considerate person, who encouraged and helped many people during his lifetime. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Dennis Lihte officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Paul Winquest, John Sims, Dan Sims, Doug Barnard, Wayne Barnard and son-in-law, Buck Winquest. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
