Jesus Montoya passed away Saturday, December 15, 2001. He was preceded in death in 1992 by his wife, Leonides. He was born in Torreon, NM, on July 7, 1914. He is survived by his 6 daughters; Juanita Baca and husband, Phillip, Luella Kramer and husband, Carveth, Linda Sanchez and husband, Larry, Dora Gunckel and husband, Fred, Marie Rendon and husband, Jose, and Julie Will and husband, Max; three sons; Ernest and wife, Dorothy, Richard and wife, Teresa, and Michael and wife, Roni; 17 grandchildren, Elizabeth Marquez and Chris Baca, Ernest, Leanne and Jesse Montoya, Richard, Marc, Adam and Rachel Montoya, Debi Garcia and Elaine Dils, Carla Montoya and Marci Kramer, Carlo and Patrick Rendon, and Jennifer and Karen Will; 13 great-grandchildren, Tim Sanchez, Shelly-Ann and Christopher Baca, Dominic and Orlando Montes and Amanda Duran, Michael, Samantha, and Alexis Garcia, Andres and Miguel Montoya, Lane Montoya, and Ryan Sandoval, and three great-great-grandchildren, Richard Mathes and Destiny Baca and Dominic Montes, Jr. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 18, 2001, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald and Son. Rosary was held at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming NE at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be Wednesday, December 19, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery will follow. Pallbearers are Daniel Baca and grandsons, Chris Baca, Ernest and Jesse Montoya, Richard, Marc and Adam Montoya, and Carlo and Patrick Rendon. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters, Elizabeth Marquez, Leanne Montoya, Rachel Montoya, Debi Garcia and Elaine Dils, Carla Montoya and Marci Kramer, and Jennifer and Karen Will. Special thanks to Fred Gunckel who was his father-in-law's caretaker for many years. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity in his name.
