Clarence J. Whitfield, age 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 30-1/ 2 years died March 20, 2003. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Giles of CO; grandsons, Cary L. Tyler and wife, Jeannea S., Jimmie C. Tyler; sister, Gertrude Dobbins of TX; great-grandchildren, Brandi, Jennifer and Amy. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie E. in 2000. He was a member of Grant Chapel A.M.E Viewing and Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Grant Chapel A.M.E 7920 Claremont Ave. NE. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
