Mary Ellen Cook, 89, a longtime Amarillo, TX resident died Sunday, March 9, 2003. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, Amarillo, TX. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery, Amarillo. Throughout her life, Mary Ellen was a strong Christian who set a loving example to her children and grandchildren. They will always remember her singing and beautiful smile. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 27, 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Smith and husband, Roger of Albuquerque and Karen Rogers Heavin and husband, Bill of Amarillo; son, Thomas Cook and wife, Annie of Albuquerque; two brothers, Ralph Baker and wife, Ada of Liberal, KS and Rodney Baker and wife, Louise of Silver City, NM; six grandchildren, Leslie Lucas and husband, Reggie of Upper Montclair, NJ, Roger Smith Jr. and wife, Caren of Albuquerque, Rachel Simpson and husband, Brett of Vancouver, BC, Misty Myrick and husband, Chad of Canyon, TX, Stephanie Garrard of Amarillo, Phillp Cook of Albuquerque; and seven great-grandchildren.
