Obituary for Apodaca

Johnny M."Shorty" Apodaca, 50, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Kendra Drane, both of Albuquerque; brother, Joe Newstrom and wife, Inez, of Corona, CA; sisters, Connie Apodaca and Marleen Apodaca, both of Albuquerque, Adeline Apodaca, of Gardena, CA, and Anna Mae Apodaca of Albuquerque; Godson, Cael John Paul Apodaca of Albuquerque, and many other aunts, uncles, loving family members, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Pauline Apodaca and sister, Mary Lee. The joy in his life was spending time with his family whom he cherished. He also loved to play baseball and basketball and was loyal DallasCowboys Fan. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping people recently becoming a substance abuse counselor. Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 13, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Services will be held Friday, March 14, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary with Pastor Richard Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
