She went on to attend Jewish School of nursing in Saint Louis, MO. Janis married Autry Gene Johnson on September 5, 1981. they had no children. Janis will be remembered in Valencia County as a facilitator of worship of the Lord Jesus Christ. Several churches owe their appreciation to her, for her contagious, fervent passion as a worshiper and lover of God; she encouraged others to be the same. Janis was greatly responsible for the introduction worship pageantry as part of worship expression by the use of banners and Jewish dance. This dance ministry has grown tremendously as it has been taught now to churches all over the country. She was also a key player in introducing the churches in Los Lunas and surrounding areas to the LaMar Boschman Worship Institute. Over the years, many in Valencia County have attended the annual International Worship conference held in Dallas, and had their lives profoundly changed by the power of God because of it. Janis would never receive such praise. She would give all the glory to God. Having suffered the loss of both her feet by amputation, she now dances with Jesus on the streets of Heaven! Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Normajean and Kenneth Secrest as well as her husband, Autry Gene (Jack) Johnson. Janis is survived by her brother, Wayne Allen Secrest; nephew, Ricci Allen Secrest; aunts, uncles and cousins scattered throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Wood River, IL; and a multitude of brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
