Macario J. Maestas, 83, passed away Monday, January 26, 2003. A native New Mexican, he served in the US. Army during WWII, having received a Purple Heart. Macario lived in San Ysidro, NM., and worked as a surveyor for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. He is survived by his children, Ernest Maestas, Reuben Maestas, and Barbara Maestas-Lubbers; sister, Maclovia Mondragon; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Funeral Services will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. Albuq. 505-343-8008.
