Obituary for Lovett

Daniel Bruce Lovett was born and grew up in Larned, Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Kansas State University in Manhattan. Mr. Lovett served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII, and he received additional training at Oregon State, Corvallis. After receiving his first degree, Mr. Lovett was employed at the Naval Weapon Station at Inyokern, CA. After receiving his M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, he went to work at the Hanford Reactor in Richland, Washington, with the Nuclear Division of General Electric. Mr. Lovett was later transferred by G.E. to the Vallecitos Nuclear Research site in Pleasanton, California. While there, he and his wife, B. Joyce Lovett, raised two children in Danville, CA. Dan Lovett will be remembered for his love of his family, his unquenchable curiosity, his sense of humor, and his involvement in theatre organ, astronomical, and locomotive societies. Dan Lovett is survived by his wife of 50 years; two children; and five grandchildren. A small, private, family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Santa Fe Building Fund, 1804 Arroyo Chamiso, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
