Obituary for Gutierrez

Mr. Pedro (Pete) Gutierrez, 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2003 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Pete was born on June 18, 1932 to Jose and Maria Gutierrez. Pete is the beloved husband of 46 years to Mrs. Mary Alice Gutierrez. Pete is also survived by one son, Michael (Mike) Gutierrez and wife,Tina; his precious grandchildren, Kristy Lynn, Matthew Christopher, and Taylor Renee; one great-granddaughter, Selena; a brother-in-law, Rafael Herrera; two brothers, Max Gutierrez and wife, Mary Ann, Albert Gutierrez and wife Marlene; three sisters, Viola Jojola and husband, Jim, Vickie Vallejos and husband, Joe, Alice Sutton and husband, Alan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Geraldine Ann; and his in-laws, Cristoval and Olivia Satarain Herrera. Pete was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. A Visitation for Pete will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with a Memorial Rosary to be recited a 7:00 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. A final Visitation will be Wednesday morning fro 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. A Committal Service and burial of Pete's cremains will take place at the El Evangelico Cemetery by his infant daughter. Pallbearers will be Max Gutierrez and Joe Vallejos. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW in charge of the arrangements.
