Loyas H. Carson, 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2003. Loyas was born October 9, 1915 the daughter of Luther A. and Effie Owsley Hendon in Afton, Missouri. She loved gardening and the outdoors. Loyas is survived by two daughters, Dixie Berry and husband, Curtis of Mountainair, NM, and Bonnie Jean Featherstone and husband, Jack of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
