Obituary for Mcintyre

William Howard McIntyre born July 6, 1927 in Albuquerque, NM died January 21, 2003 in Upland, CA. Billy graduated from St. Mary's School in 1947 where he played football and basketball. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines, 5th Division, Company E, during world War II and was a survivor of the full 38-day battle on Iwo Jima. He enlisted in the Marine Corps when he was only 16 years old because he felt a tremendous sense of patriotism and love for his country. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in Ontario, CA in 1989. His loving wife of 55 years, Mary Lee; and 15 of his 17 children survive Billy. His surviving sons are Stephen McIntyre, Bruce McIntyre, Paul McIntyre and Mark McIntyre; daughters, Jennifer Grant, Deborah Yamato, Cecelia Niemczyk, Sandra Williams, Laureen McIntyre, Mary Ann Campi, Teresa Guzman, Karen Schartau, Susan Alvarez, Sally Alvarez, and Melissa McIntyre. His sons, Daniel who died in 1977 and Patrick who died in 1998 preceded him in death. 37 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren also survive Billy. Billy was one of ten children who were all raised in Albuquerque. His surviving siblings are Teresa Zamora, David McIntyre and Boleso McIntyre all of Albuquerque and Craig McIntyre of Phoenix, AZ. Bill has joined his deceased sons as well as his deceased brothers, Robert, Johnny, Duncan and Pado McIntyre; and sister, Madeline Manning with God, our Father in heaven. Rosary will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Cooper Ave., NW on Monday, January 27, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. will follow the Rosary, Father Edmundo Rodriguez, Celebrant. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be conducted at Mount Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Funeral.
