Obituary for Lucero

Mr. Roman Lucero, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Thursday, January 23, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 89. Mr. Lucero is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Lucero; mother and father, Eulogio and Emilia Lucero; two brothers, Eulogio Lucero Jr. and Soffle Lucero; and one sister, Gabrielita. Roman was a man who loved his family and loved to share his life stories and words of wisdom with anyone who was willing to listen. He was a man of conviction, self-educated, possessed many talents, and was a master mechanic. He was a self-proclaimed natural healer and touched many lives. Roman loved to go deer hunting with his father and passed down his love for the outdoors to everyone in his life. His belief in life was that anything can be accomplished if you used your"95." Mr. Lucero is survived by his children, Emilia Chavez, Frank Lucero and Marti, Theresa Sandoval and Leo, and Richard Lucero; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers, Celso and Tony; sister, Jenny Marcum; and a special nephew, Johnny Martinez and Ruby. A Rosary for Mr. Lucero will be recited on Sunday, afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with viewing beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Memorial Services will take place on Thursday at Queen of Heaven Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
