Obituary for Burdick

R. Wendell Burdick, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since December 1984, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Burdick; son, Richard W. Burdick and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; daughters, Linda Belle Yadsko and husband, Joseph of Freeland, PA and Ruth Ellyn Burdick and husband, Rev. Kenneth of Auburn, WA; son, Scott C. Burdick and wife, Deborah of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. C. Rex Burdick and wife, Joyce of Sherrill, NY, Willard Burdick and wife, Glenice of De Ruyter, NY, Wayne Burdick and wife, Arline of Albuquerque, Eugene Burdick and wife, Elsie of De Ruyter, NY, and Gordon Burdick and wife, Juanita of Lake Wales, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard. Mr. Burdick was born in Boulder, CO and moved at an early age to New York State. He graduated from high school in De Ruyter, NY. He spent the early part of his career owning and operating a large dairy farm in the central New York area. Later he worked for the Key Bank System. Mr. Burdick was active with numerous youth activities including 4-H and Grange. He was also active as a school board member, Farm Bureau member and a member and deacon of Seventh Day Baptist Church in DeRuyter, NY. In recent years, he was a member of the Four Hills Lions Club. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2003, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
