Obituary for Tafoya

Mr. Samuel Tafoya Sr., 89, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 15, 2003 peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family. Mr. Tafoya is survived by his four daughters, Dora Segura and husband, Tom, Estefanita Tafoya de Sena, Theresa Houston and husband, Robert, Dolores Ulibarri and husband, Dave; two sons, Andrew Tafoya and wife, Ramona and Martin Tafoya; one brother, Ernest Tafoya and wife, Ramona; two daughters in law, Martha Tafoya and Vivian Lee Tafoya; sons in law, James Manning; five sisters, Irene Vigil and husband, Bonafacio, Marie Lovato and husband, Ignaocencio, Mercy Crollett and husband, Seferino, Lisha Trambley and husband, Frank, Katie Martinez and husband, Alfonso; 35 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Tafoya is preceded in death by his wife, Trinidad Tafoya; sons, Ernest, Tommy and Deacon Sam Tafoya Jr.; a daughter, Evangeline Manning and a son in law, Felix B. Sena. Mr. Tafoya was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War I I. A Rosary was held Friday evening at 7:00pm at St. Anne Catholic Church by Deacon Tibo Chavez. A visitation was held Saturday morning from 9:30am until 10:00am at St. Anne Catholic Church, Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00am by Father Robert Landcaster. Cremation followed. A Committal Service of the cremains will take place on Tuesday, January 21st, 2003 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00am with Military Honors by the D.A.V. Chapter #13. Pallbearers will be, Neno Segura, Pat Sena, Andy Tafoya, Timothy Tafoya, Juan Tafoya and Robert Houston. Honorary pallbearers will be, Troy Ulibarri, Sam Tafoya, Anthony Segura, Albert Gurule, Joseph Sena and Mark Tafoya. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements. 243-7861
