Obituary for Hambor

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 19, 2003

Edwina Logan Eddi" Hambor died January 12, 2003 at her home in Albuquerque. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She was listening to the Grateful Dead and watching football when she passed, with a smile of content on her face. She was born in Painesville, Ohio December 15, 1940. Eddi was a paralegal with the Legal Aid Society of Albuqerque for the past 14 years. She will be missed by her fellow workers and the clients to whom she was so devoted. Eddi and her husband, Jim were devoted"Deadheads" who together attended over 100 Grateful Dead Shows. Her favorite Dead tune was"Ripple" composed and written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. This song best describes our beloved Eddi. It was indeed a long strange trip. She was the Valedictorian at her high school and a 1961 graduate of The Ohio State University and an avid Buckeye and Browns fan. Go Bucks, Eddi forever a Buckeye. Survivors are her husband of 24 years James P. Hambor; brother, Patrick (Janna) Logan of Tijeras, NM; daughters, Christine (Tracy) Howland and Lisa (fiance, Glenn Graham) Hill of Albuquerque; adopted son, Art (Sara) Leyba of Albuquerque; step-sons, Daniel (Melanie) Hambor of Fairport Harbor, Ohio and Richard (Kristen) Hambor of Maryland; niece, Shawne (Billy) Blackburn; nephews, Patrick and Jason Logan; grandchildren, Kirsten Sparacino, Logan Howland; step-grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Howland, Braedon, Millicent, and Jacob Hambor; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country. Her parents Edwin and Patricia Logan are deceased. The family suggests contributions be made to New Mexico Legal Aid, PO Box 25486 Albuquerque, New Mexico 87125 in Eddi's name.
