Obituary for Huxel

Ruth F. Huxel, age 89, of Montrose, CO formerly of Albuquerque, NM died Tuesday afternoon, January 14, 2003 in Valley Manor Care Center at Montrose. Ruth F. Huxel, the daughter of Charles H. and Anna May (Crawford) Fulton was born on December 14, 1913 at Audubon, IA; where she spent her childhood and graduated from high school. In the mid-1930's Ruth moved to Springfield, OH. Where she met Raymond C. Huxel. They were united in marriage on October 20, 1938 in Springfield, OH. where they continued to live until relocating to Albuquerque, NM in 1974. Raymond died May 8, 1986. Ruth continued to live in Albuquerque until 1997 when she moved to Montrose to be closer to her family. Prior to retirement, Ruth was church secretary for 18 years, from 1957 - October 1974, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, OH. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. She was also an Eastern Star, hospital volunteer, and loved to sew and crochet; making numerous afghans. Surviving family members include two sons, Larry Huxel and wife, Katherine of Montrose, CO, Robert Huxel and wife, Angie of Austin, TX; two grandchildren, Stephanie Heinchon and Dr. Lauren Huxel M.D.; three great-grandchildren, Corbin, Tanner and Logan Heinchon; and one sister, Velma Thompson of Audubon, IA. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was also preceded in death by four brothers, Glen, Harold, James and Dale; one sister, Luella Whan. a Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Albuquerque, 505-345-3536. Visitation will take place from Noon until Service time on Saturday, January 18, 2003. Burial will follow the Service at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Uncompahgre Valley, in memory of Ruth Huxel, PO Box 1804 Montrose, CO. 81402.
