Obituary for Rucker

Alvin Reed Rucker passed away on January 8, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital. He was born in Abbott, New Mexico on April 28, 1924. He served in the 45th. Division of the United States Army during World War II. After his discharge he worked for the Rural Electric Association for five years, putting up power lines throughout the Northern part of New Mexico. He later went to work for Mountain Bell in Colorado Springs where he met his future wife Maxine. In 1957 they moved to Albuquerque to raise their family. He retired after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maxine Rucker; daughter, Cindy; and his two grandsons, Joshua and Robert Janpol. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale; and two sons, Robbie Rucker and Stephen Rucker. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and always helped people in need. A memorial will be held at Aspen Funeral Alternatives on Friday January 17, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the Charity of your Choice.
