Obituary for Gutierrez

Teodoro"Apa" Gutierrez, 93, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away in his sleep at the Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque on Monday morning, January 6, 2003. Apa was a sheepherder most of his life and was also a cook for several restaurants throughout the Albuquerque area. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary J. Gallegos; grandson, George Gallegos; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph Gallegos, George Romero, and Samantha Gallegos. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Lorenzo Gallegos Jr., Danny Gallegos and wife, Barbara, Rosemary Romero and husband, George, Ronnie Gallegos, David Gallegos and wife, Nadine, Joann Chavez and husband, Larry, Patricia Gallegos and Annmarie Ayala; 23 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. All services will take place at Romero Funeral Home. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny, Ronnie, David, Lorenzo Jr. and Lorenzo III. Gallegos, and George Romero Jr. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
