Obituary for Larzelere

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday March 06, 2003

Bart Larzelere died on March 1, 2003. He was truly a bright star and overflowing spirit. Some highlights of his life were skateboarding, music (trumpet, baritone horn, flute), food service in Hawaii and at The Old House in Santa Fe, EMT work at the Espanola Hospital, reading, and poetry. He was a student at New Mexico Military Institute, Santa Fe Community College, and the University of New Mexico. He came to full life as he embraced conversations with friends and family. He had the greatest network of friends of anyone 26 years old. How he loved his grandparents, his mom and dad; cousins, aunts and uncles of many generations. He had the joy of knowing his great-grandparents, now deceased, Harry James and Eva Belle Grabert, formerly of Fountainville, PA. Bart was preceded in death by his grandma, Eva Kraus Yerk Steeley and his grandpapa Benjamin Larzelere, Jr. He is survived by his loving mother and father, Beverly and The Rev. Benjamin Larzelere III, Santa Fe, NM; his loving friend Eliza Kretzmann, Santa Fe, NM; granddad, Jacob A. Steeley, Sellersville, PA; grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Larzelere, Boca Raton, FL; aunt, Lynne; and uncle, Skip Getch, Boca Raton, FL; uncle Tim and aunt Deb Steeley, cousins, Jennifer and Andrew Steeley, Harrisburg, PA; Godmother Dianne Bryan Young, Brecksville, OH; and his extended family of great aunts and uncles and cousins; and many, many friends. He delighted in the role of"big brother" for his cousins, Sommer and Devon Ruggiero; daughters of Linda Ruggiero, Santa Fe, NM. Bart's life was an insatiable search for knowledge and truth. He rests in God's arms of absolute peace and love. Thanks be to God for his life. The Funeral will be Sunday, March 9, 2003, at 3.00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1701 Arroyo Chamiso, Santa Fe, NM 87505-4775.
