Lula Mae Johnson, 92. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 31, 2003, 10:00, at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Graveside Services will follow at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens, Santa Fe, NM. Mrs. Johnson was born in Beinville, LA on Friday, May 20, 1910 and died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Mission Manor after being bedridden for more than ten years. She was the widow of Charles W. Johnson, who served as Assistant New Mexico State Highway Engineer. He preceded her in death in 1970. She and her husband were married July 17 1928 in Little Rock, AR. At the time he was pitcher for the Triple A Little Rock Travelers and she was in nurses training there. After their marriage, they moved to Aztec, NM. A homemaker, Mrs. Johnson lived in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. She is survived by her children, Jean and Al Cynova of Soda Springs, ID and Rio Rancho, NM; Mary and Eric Odendahl of Santee, CA; Phyllis and Peter Maglione of Sandia Park, NM; and Charles Gregory and Odessa Johnson of Redlands, CA; 13 grandchildren, Tommy Cynova of Afton, WY, Debbie Talik of Rio Rancho, NM, Terry Odendahl of Santa Fe, NM, Pamela Odendahl-Quant of San Leandro, CA, Cindy Adams of SeaTac, WA, Jim Hill and Charley Hill of Albuquerque, NM, Mary Hill-Matthews of Sandia Park, NM, Rhonda Johnson of Detroit, MI, Charley Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Maegan Johnson and Kristen Johnson, all of Redlands, CA; 17 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother. All will miss her infectious laughter. The family expresses special thanks to Peter Maglione, Diana Sanchez and all who cared for Mrs. Johnson during her illness.
