Obituary for Reynolds

Kathryn Isabel Sandel Reynolds was born March 2, 1913 in Center, TX and died on March 31, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. (Bob) Reynolds and her brothers, Edwin Sandel, Laurie Sandel, George Burton Sandel, and James Sandel. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Melissa (Missy) Reynolds Simnacher of Albuquerque, NM and Patricia Ann Reynolds Daily of Carbondale, CO; three granddaughters, Erinn Melissa Simnacher Burch of Clovis, NM, Amanda Lynn Simnacher Walter of Lafayette, CA and Meredith Renee Daily of Carbondale, CO; and one great-grandson,Connor Armstrong Burch of Clovis, NM. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nephews and nieces and friends. Kathryn grew up in Center, TX. She supported the war effort for World War II, as a laboratory technician with Gulf Oil in Port Arthur, TX and she married Bob Reynolds shortly after he returned from Coast Guard duty in the Sea of Japan. Kathryn and Bob lived in Tyler, TX, Victoria, TX, and Eldorado, AR. They moved to Plainview, TX in 1958 and lived there until their daughters were out of high school. Their last move together was to Austin, TX where Bob entered the real estate business until his death in 1974. Kathryn returned to Center for about 25 years. She moved into Las Colinas Village in Albuquerque, in 1998, to be closer to family. She will be remembered most for her love of dancing, golf, and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a quick wit and great sense of humor. She so enjoyed the mountain scenery and the beautiful blue skies of New Mexico and was always happy that sheɹd made the decision to move to Albuquerque. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
