Obituary for Martinez

Mr. Jesus M. Martinez, 72, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 10, 2003 peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side. Mr. Martinez is the beloved husband of 49 years to Mrs. Anita Martinez. Mr. Martinez is also survived by two daughters, Becky Gullen and fiance, Christopher Quihuis and Annette Martinez-Barela; one son, James Martinez; six sisters, Elviria, Nestorita, Jennie and husband Manuel, Olympia, Mary Lou and Matilda; a brother, Mel Martinez; four grandchildren, Lynette Guillen, J.J. Quintana, Alicia Martinez and Johnathn Quintana; ten great grandchildren, Jamie, Andrea, Adriana, Kristiana, Santos, Baby J.J., Anita, Carlos, George III, Justice, and Maria; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. A visitation for Mr. Martinez will be Monday evening from 6:30pm until¯ 7:00pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p, by Johnnie Trujillo.¯ A second Rosary will be will be recited¯ Tuesday evening at 7:00pm by Los Hermanos de la Morada at Block-Salazar Mortuary in Espanola, NM with visitation after 6:00pm. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30am until 11:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Santa Cruz, New Mexico with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, by Father Jose Blanch. A Committal Service will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00pm. Pallbearers will be Dale Martinez, Jimmy Martinez, Harold Martinez, Freddie Martinez, Onecimo Montoya and George Edwards.¯ Honorary Pallbeares will be Robert Montoya and Soltero Fresquez.
