Obituary for Greenfield

Lydia Louise Beatty Greenfield passed away on April 21, 2003 as a result of an accident suffered while traveling in Southeast Asia. Lydia was 77 years old. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul V. Greenfield; daughter, Patricia Greenfield West; sons, Paul V. Greenfield, Jr., John A. Greenfield and Alan R. Greenfield; granddaughter, Kate West; sisters, Pat Tyler and Eleanor McNamee; brother, John Beatty, and many nieces and nephews. Born July 23, 1925 in Clairton, Pennsylvania, Lydia's family moved from Pennsylvania to California when she was 14. She graduated from the University of California at Berkley in 1947, and taught elementary school prior to her marriage to Paul Greenfield in 1953. Lydia touched the lives of countless friends and family members in the many places she called home during her lifetime, including Mt. Shasta, CA, Midland, MI, Newark, OH, Cleveland, OH and Albuquerque, NM. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and exceptionally positive outlook on life, her interminable enthusiasm, an endless love for travel and adventure, and the fact that she and her adoring husband Paul never had an argument.
